Dear Taylor Academy Family:

We are just months away from the very important OAT Tests and every day of learning continues to be extremely important to our success. Many of the students are working hard, listening in class, and exhibiting excellent behavior in our brand new school. We are very proud of them and have told them so.

Unfortunately, we also have a few students who have been making very poor choices. Their disrespect to teachers and classmates, lack of motivation, and lack of effort has become a chronic, continual issue that is affecting the learning process.

In order to provide the best learning environment possible for every student, we are again emphasizing the discipline process called the “RULE OF 5”. The procedure is outlined below. Please read and sign below so that we know you are aware of our code of discipline at Taylor Academy.

“RULE OF 5”

3 marks on the clipboard = 1 step on the discipline plan

Step 1,2,3,4,5: Detention (1/2 hour after school)

Step 6,7,8,9,10: Double Detentions (1 hour after school)

Step 11,12,13,14,15: Friday Night School (2 hours after school)

*If a student surpasses step 15, they are considered a “chronic offender” and can be suspended or removed to the A2S (Alternative to Suspension) School.
